Elixir: [Track 2] The Most Beautiful Thing

Track 2 : The Most Beautiful Thing - Bruno Major Author : Maria Sekar | Editor : Brigitta Kalina Alex Miller's Point of View “Will it be a pavement or a sidewalk When I finally lay my eyes on you? Someone I've already loved will you find your way out of the blue?”   *** I had just moved to California three months ago, yet I had become a regular at The Busy Bean. Maybe it was because I needed more caffeine than ever since I started my first real job (still can’t get over the fact that I’m a real responsible adult now!!!), or maybe because providing coffee was one of my tasks as a probationary employee.  Or maybe simply because coffee shops were my safe haven since they reminded me of someone I had lost.  The Busy Bean was located right across XDesign’s main building. I had always thought the owner was very smart to open a coffee shop right in front of a big office. An architectural company, no less. Who needs caffeine more than architects? Our projects often made them slee...

Elixir: [Track 1] Shadow Days

Track 1 : Shadow Days - John Mayer Author: Brigitta Kalina | Editor : Maria Sekar Logan Cleverly’s Point of View "Did you know that you could be wrong and swear you're right, Some people been known to do it all their lives, But you find yourself alone just like you found yourself before, Like I found myself in pieces on the hotel floor."   “Logan?” I tried to open my eyes as the lights were slowly shining up so bright. I was feeling unconscious. “Logan? Hey, Man, wake up! What are you doing up here?” “I… I...,” I was barely waking up, looking right to left and trying to comprehend what I just did. I saw Nick looking at me strangely. He picked up a small glass that was located just next to me. He sighed. “You and your drink again? Seriously? You think a party this night won’t be enough for you?” I remembered my eyes were fully opened when Nick said a party, “Wha… what? A party? What party?” I tried to stand up but it was so hard. My clothes were wet and the papers were sca...

The Writer's Diary : Written in 2020; My Bad, I Know

Saturday, 13th of June 2020 I just finished reading the older posts when I finally had an idea to write a post in this blog - this old and dusty one - while listening to Iwan Fals' "Aku Bukan Pilihan". That's quite random - both the activity and the song I chose to hear - and this might also be the most random thing I've ever done in 2020 due to - also but not limited to - COVID-19 that happen recently. I wish that I could write "happened" instead of "happen" in the last sentence, but unfortunately, at least until the day I wrote this, this COVID-19 thing hasn't finished yet. I'm pretty sure that you don't want to hear me talking about this covid stuff because we're all mentally exhausted hearing too much informations about it, aren't we?  Well, at least I am.   It is the thirteenth day of June, 2020. 2 months for me being a 20-year-old-girl (or woman? well that sounds too old) and the very least 4 months for me being in qua...

Christmas Countdown 2017 : The Day

Previous story : Christmas Countdown : D-2 "I'm so sorry, Sir but the flight for New York to Sydney are all booked," said one of the travel manager. It was 7.30 in the evening, and I was just in rush. I needed to go home. "I would give you everything just to get that damn ticket. Please, I need to go home real soon," I pleased her. The travel manager looked at me with such a pity smile, but she just couldn't help. "I wish I could help you in this special night, but all the tickets to Sydney are all booked until new year," she said again. "How about other flights to other cities in Australia?" I asked but she just shooked his head. She said sorry for few times, and I left this travel agency afterwards. I wore my thick jacket again I ran home. That place was the last travel agency I visited after some before. I gave up, and I decided to shelter on the nearest coffee shop just to warm up my body.  I bought hot chocolate, and I decided to dri...
