Another Christmas Day

When I was younger, I always thought that living abroad was exciting. I could learn lots of things, make some friends, and living a new life. And yes it is, living here in Australia is awesome. I think only certain people got this chance, and I'm so thankful that I'm one of those people. 

I like being here with new people. Logan introduced me to some friends. I learned lots of things too from them. I love the food, the cultures, the music, the skyscrapers, the people's accent, the weather, and everything. Most of all I like the way it feels when we celebrate Christmas. 

Maybe surronded by
Strangers and Cristmas lights
I shouldnt feel so alone

But I wanna go home
God I miss you, you know

But somehow there's a thing about home. There's something missing when I'm here. The thing about my hometown, the people, the food, the culture, and everything. 

It's been one year since my coming here in Australia. And I haven't seen my family and friends since that. 

Maybe that's why I miss home. That's why I think about my coming back home too much. That's why I'm hoping for surprise on Christmas.

I couldn't help but finally I skyped my family in Indonesia. It was 2 days before Christmas. And I sure that they were at home, and I knew that my big brother was already came home too. Yes that would be easier for him to come home because his college is only in Yogyakarta,    You only need to take train and wait for some hours and you'll arrive to my hometown. 

After a long time finally we were connected and...

"Hello guysssss it's been a long timeeeee!!" I was too excited that time. There were my dad, my mom, and my big brother. I could see the Christmas tree decorating our house and for sure I missed the decorating Christmas tree event. That was so sad because I never missed it, I always decorated our Christmas tree with my family every year.

"We miss you, C. Are you okay there?"

I nodded, "I'm fine and having fun here."

"You don't come back home, huh?" asked my big bro. 

"Yeah I'm sorry I haven't booked the ticket cause they are so expensive." I said to them.

Now the reasons im so far away aint good enough
What ever they need me for
I know that i need you more
So i'll do the things I got to do to get back to you

I'll make it back by Christmas eve

Suddenly someone knocked my door, he was Logan, and I let him in.

"What are you doing... Oh hey guys nice to see you all!" said Logan when finally realized that I was skype-ing with my family.

"Oh and nice to meet you too, Logan," said my dad.

My big bro said, "Well you must be Logan, right?" And then Logan nodded.

"Ohhh so he must be your boyfriend too, C!! You said that..." My big bro joked, but he tryna ashamed me.

"No, damn it you no that's wrong that's completely wrong," I said fastly.

"Hahaha you are paralyze!!!" My big bro said. God, he sucks. Logan just smiled, and he laughed a little too.

My mom said, "Well, C about your coming home here we can buy you the tickets."

Yes, why didn't I ask my parents to buy the tickets. Why didn't I think about it. Why did... Why did... Why did...

"Oh yea. I didn't think about that. You wanna buy me the ticket, Mom. That's a pleasure. I really wanna come home," I said to her.

"Well, we will try to buy you the ticket. You have to remember that it's two days before Christmas."

"Okay guys I hope it works. I really wanna come home. Thank you," I said. 

After talking some talks finally we said goodbye. I hoped it works, I hoped my parents would get the ticket.

After shuting down my laptop, I turned to Logan. He seemed not right.

"What's going on Logan?" asked me to him. His face looked really sad and disappointed.

"Nope. I'm just..." he said, "I'm okay. Oh and well the dinner is ready."

"Oh okay," I said.

"I'm gonna wait you outside," then he went out and seemed like there was something wrong.

What was that?

"One of my Christmas wish is to spend the Christmas day with you."

I forgot. I knew why.
