Christmas Countdown : D-4

"What's your Christmas fantasy?"

That was the first question Logan asked me that day. He just appeared in front of me all of sudden and of course I shocked.

"What do you mean 'Christmas fantasy'?" asked me after that.

He sat next to me then. We were in the living room that morning. We watched Law and Order.

"Just kinda Christmas thing you expect but you know that it's impossible to do."

I smiled after that, "Why did you ask me like that?"

"Just asking. Why? You don't like it? Okay then I'm gonna change the topic.."

"No, no..  It's like you never asked me question this weird, you know?"

"Well, 1) this question isn't weird at all and 2) I've ever asked you the worse question than this : Why Jack Arrington thinks that folk music is weird?"

I laughed, I remembered the time when he asked me that question. It was my first day of school. Actually it was my 10th day in Sydney and of course my 10th day too for knowing Logan. But yes that was awkward because that was our 1st day going out together without Logan's parents. All the conversations were weird like : What a shiny day (and then a hard rain happened), the lunch was awesome (but it tasted really bad), and we didn't ask each other question. After a really long time finally Logan asked me "Why Jack Arrington thinks folk music is weird?" and that was ridicolous. I was speechless, the answer was of course I know nothing about it but then I answered it with the worse answer too : maybe he knew a thing or two about folk better than us. That was bad I know, sometimes we use this awkward moment as a joke, and I always laugh really hard everytime I remember it.

"Okay that was awkward. But the thing is I don't have any Christmas fantasy," I said after laughing so hard.

"Ahh come one, you must be have one. It's only as simple as your wildest dream," he said to me, "I'll make it easier, what's your wildest dream?"

And I shrugged, "I don't know. My dream always makes sense."

Logan gave up, "I'll give you an example. My Christmas fantasy is that Jack Frost could speak. Just as simple as that"

"Well, a lot of movies or cartoon did that."

"Okay. This is tiring. Now I'm just gonna guess your Christmas fantasy because you don't wanna answer my simple question."

"Then guess," I said to him.

"I'll guess it, but now you have to follow me," he said to me. He looked really excited.

I followed him then, but then I realized that we went to the garage and he got into his car. I confused.

"Where are we going to go?" asked me to him.

"Just follow me." Then I got into his car too and he was driving. I didn't know where was he going to drive, I just didn't know what happen.

"I just wanna thank you," said him after a long silence.

"Thank you for what?" asked me.

"For everything."

"Everything? It must be me who thank to you and your family."

He just drove and drove, and I still didn't know where he was going to take me.

"My family and I are so thankful to have you as a part of our family. At least we're your host family," he said.

"Wow, Logan. I'm so thankful too," I said to him.

"I mean you're more than just a teenager who lives with us. You mean a lot to us. You know that I don't have any siblings, right?" I nodded.

"My mom and dad always wanted to have the other child to accompany me so I don't feel lonely. They ever wanted to adopted a girl so they can take care of her but I didn't want to.

Sometimes I always think that another kid at home just makes my parents don't care about me anymore. I still think about it until right now, though I know that it's a childish thing.

When my parents said that they wanted to be a host family of someone, I was shocked. I was sad, and honestly I cried. I thought if that was suck, and I mad at my parents.

The first time you came to our house, I mad at you because I didn't wanna have another teenager at my house. And that time I had no friends. I just didn't like to make friends or something.

But your coming to our house changed everything. That was awkward for the first time, but then you started to talk to me. You were trying to make some friends, and you helped me doing everything. You made my parents proud of me, and they love you. I just don't know how to say it but we are so thankful to have you as a part of our family," said him explained everything to me. I smiled, and I was really happy to hear his story. Hearing the changing of his life because of me and that I bring happiness to Logan and his family.

"I'm so speechless. I just don't know what to say. I.. I'm so happy to hear that and I'm so grateful that I could bring happiness to you and your family. I never thought about this," I said to him.

"That's why I brought you here," he asked me to come out from his car after an hour trip from Logan's house to this place. I came out and saw the scenery.

"God, this is Sydney Opera. Thank God, thank you so much, Logannnn!!!" I was speechless. That was Sydney Opera, the place that I always wanted to visit. And after seeing it I could finally feel that I was in Sydney, like the pictures on TV and internet.

"I'm sorry I haven't brought you here since the first day you came. That's kinda embarassing because it's been one year since your coming here to Sydney. And I'm sorry too that I can't bring you inside, yeah you know I have no enough money to buy the tickets," he smiled but feeling guilty to me. He told me to sit next to him  on the bench near the Sydney Opera.

"Logan, just seeing at this place makes me happy. I don't really like opera, you know. I just wanna see this thing I've seen only on TV and internet," I laughed to him.

"Well, C, I know I can't help you to buy the ticket for your coming home. I've tried to search everywhere but yap... I'm sorry, C. I hope this thing is gonna make you happy, and don't be sad."

"Logan, you don't have to do all of these things. This is awesome and thank you for bringing me here," I said to him, "thank you, Logan."

He smiled, and I smiled. We enjoyed this amazing view in this afternoon, when the sun was right above us. It takes about 1 hour to be here from Logan's house and we're gonna take a rest.

He looked at me, "Now I'm gonna guess what's your Christmas fantasy."

"I'm listening," I said.

"Your Christmas fantasy is..." he acted like he was a fortuner. I laughed.

"There will be snow in Australia and Indonesia on Christmas, right?" I shook my head.

"You were gonna meet The Real Santa Claus?" I shook my head again.

He tried to guess lots of time, but he failed.

"I'm gonna tell you. My Christmas fantasy is to be here with the one who really thankful because of my presence in his house."

He smiled at me, but then he said, "That was neither Christmas fantasy nor Wildest Dream, C."

"I've told you that my dreams always make sense, right?" Logan laughed.

Logan said to me, "You know what, C?" I shook my head.

"Deep deep deep in my heart I really want you to stay here for Christmas. We need someone like you to bring a difference for our Christmas."

I said nothing, and I didn't know what to say.

I'll be home for Christmas, if only in my dream.
